  • Consulted with students from diverse backgrounds and all academic disciplines, helping them to clarify their own thoughts and polish their communication and paper-writing skills. Provided suggestions and guidance for additional research paths to follow. Consultations conducted in person, over the telephone, and online via email.
  • Collaborated with other writing consultants to help fill staff knowledge gaps and help train new consultants in Teaching and Learning Center policies, procedures, and pedagogy.
  • Revised Teaching and Learning Center policy and operations manual to comply with current best practices, pedagogy, and priorities.
  • Developed numerous research, writing process, and study skills handouts for student use in the Teaching and Learning Center and reformatted and updated existing handouts.
  • Selected to serve on Writing Coordinator search committee following departure of previous coordinator.
  • Assisted students in the University of Washington Tacoma’s Freshman Core program during the Core program’s first year of implementation.  Participated in new-student orientation activities and travelled to Core classrooms to give short lectures and help with peer review.
  • Promoted the Teaching and Learning Center at events including New Student Orientation, career fairs, and Taste of UWT events to increase awareness of available educational assistance within the student body.
